|Bio||“Be the change you want to see in the world” – M. Ghandi
After obtaining my Economics degree in Antwerp, I started my career as a Financial Consultant in a small firm. After a few years, I was given the opportunity to become a Business Finance Manager in the Fashion industry where I started to learn about the beauty of the sector, as well as its challenges.
After 8 years, I experienced a “lightbulb moment” and realized that the main focus of my work was profit, instead of people. That is when I decided “I had to become the change” as this did not sit well with me any longer.
Stemming from a lifelong passion for animals and our beautiful planet, I started learning about Cradle-to-Cradle and Circular Economy, and I quickly understood that this new economic model provides the best way forward for both the economy and the environment.
In 2017, I started working with ReBlend, a Dutch start-up offering 100% recycled yarns and fabrics (70% post-consumer waste and 30% rPET) as well as supporting frontrunners with the transition to becoming a better version of themselves.
I have Dutch genes, was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium and since 5,5 years based in Lugano, Switzerland.
Using my experience and expertise, I am eager to help companies transition to circular business models including figuring out the financials to make it work. I can also support companies and designers in their decisions to switch to more sustainable fabrics and closed-loop systems.|
